Support for the Needy: Extending a Hand of Care and Compassion
As part of its mission to serve society beyond education, Shivalik Primary School Society launched a community outreach program to support underprivileged and needy families in nearby rural and urban areas. This initiative focused on uplifting vulnerable communities through direct assistance and spreading a message of solidarity and social care.
The society, with the active involvement of students, staff, and volunteers, organized donation drives to collect essential items such as food grains, clothes, blankets, stationery, and hygiene kits. These items were thoughtfully distributed to families facing economic hardships, especially during the winter season and post-pandemic recovery period.
Special attention was given to children and elderly individuals, ensuring that no one was left behind. Volunteers visited remote areas and slums to personally distribute the materials, talk to families, and understand their ongoing challenges.
In addition to physical donations, awareness sessions on health, hygiene, and education were conducted, encouraging children to continue their schooling and parents to avail of government welfare schemes.
This noble effort helped foster empathy, social responsibility, and active citizenship among students and volunteers, who experienced the joy of giving and the value of community service.
With this initiative, Shivalik Society reaffirmed its belief that education is not just about books, but also about building a compassionate society.
